this mix is awesome..... I would highly recommend this mix for making jerky .... I make 10 pounds of jerky at a time and freeze it everyone who has tried deer jerky just drools over it and ask me what seasoning mix I use its the BEST !!!!
It starts with the color. Just a perfect deep red that makes it look so fresh, so inviting, and so interesting. Then comes the sweet taste, definitely at the top of my list of Con Yeager choices. But then comes the surprise. Right after the satisfying sweet flavor comes the hot spiceyvflavor, just enough for a few little sweat on the tip of the nose which completes the cycle of taste perfection. Definitely one of my top two favorites in the Con Yeager jerky family.
I have 2 smokers and a smokehouse. I do this a lot. This is arguably better than my seasoning and way cheaper and easier and really fair shipping. If you want to make dehydrator jerky, add 1/2 the water and use liquid smoke and some course ground garlic salt (not too much) it rocks! I have to admit this is really good. If you know what your doing and use it for properly sliced deer and don't over smoke/dry, there isn't anything on earth better.
Use the Hillybilly Jerky seasoning to make turkey jerky. Tried other rub type seasoning but the Hillybilly is the BEST. Very simple to use.
Hillbilly Jerky is the best flavor. you have to try it you will keep buying this time after time.
Others can't compare. I will buy again and definitely try other Conyeager products.
If you follow the directions and USE A DIGITAL thermometer in your smoker, this is a 100% foolproof method for making the best venison jerky that you've ever had.
We use hind quarters only... Using a meat slicer, slice the meat 1/4" thick with the grain... cut into 1 1/2" wide strips and you're set for 5 star jerky.
We get commpliments from everyone and process between 10 to 12 deer a season... we can't make enough.
