    Sausage, Blueberry Maple

Posted by Keith Allan on 4th Jun 2021

This product lists as for fresh sausage, however I have changed it up a bit by stuffing it into sausage casings, using turkey 93/7 lean, adding powdered milk for a binder and wild blueberry preserves to the water for mixing and then smoking it. It comes out fantastic. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the fact that I add the additional preserves to get it to the sweetness that I want. Highly recommend this product

    Sausage, Blueberry Maple

It came out very good. I used ground turkey instead of pork. After reading some of the reviews I added 2 Tablespoons of Blueberry Preserves to the water mixture and it came out great. Very good Maple taste and not ultra sweet.

    Great Flavor

Posted by Adam on 10th Jan 2018

Was looking for a good breakfast sausage seasoning to mix with venison. The taste and quality turned out much better than i expected coming from venison. like other reviews the blueberry flavor was not really noticeable, but still turned out great. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a sweeter style breakfast sausage!

    Slightly disappointed

Posted by Jodi on 23rd Oct 2015

I was a bit disappointed with the blueberry maple seasonings as it was a bit bland. Now, as a disclaimer, I am used to more spicy sausages like the hot italian and regular italian so that might just be my tastebuds and no reflection on the spice. I do not dislike it enough to not recommend it. In fact, I would highly recommend you try it, especially if you are more used to the lesser spiced sausages.

After you mix it up you can see the blueberries in it. The maple flavor stood out and, I feel, drowned any flavor of blueberry that might have been in there. Suggest maybe adding a bit of blueberry syrup to it when mixing it yourself - trial and error sort of thing.

It wasn't a bad flavor, just not enough spices for me.
