It’s a keeper
I bought a few Con Yeager Patty Seasoning packets at a Dick's Sporting Goods sales event to try on my ground deer meat. I've never liked the taste of 100% deer burgers until I mixed in the CY Seasoning. I made some burgers with the Greek Feta mix tonight and everyone loved them. Even my mother in law who can't stand eating wild game. She wants to order more seasoning to use on my father in law's game.
At first glance, Greek/Feta didn't seem like a burger spice to me, but my son picked it out and we tried it along with others from Con Yeager. The entire family loves burgers with this spice... and now they're even a bit disappointed if we run out and "have to" use one of those others. Don't place an order without it.
I used this seasoning mixed 50/50 with ground beef and chicken and it was PHENOMENAL!!! A little homemade tzatziki was all that was needed. This would be excellent for gyro meat :-p
May of not cooked the burgers the best this time around. Burgers were still demolished like usual, but was on the salty side. WasnÕt that bad just not the taste for us. Definitely need some sweet to counter it.
I have now tried this seasoning on 2 occasions. The first was just for our family. Everyone raved that they were the best burgers ever. No mustard, catsup, etc needed. The burger was frozed grass-fed ground beef.
The 2nd time was for a party with 40 people. Again, the burgers were recieved with rave reviews with many comments that they were the best burgers ever. Several people asked where I got the seasoning, and I happily refered them to the Con Yeager Greek w/Feta. The meat was 80% ground buffalo and 20% pastured ground pork.
I have not yet tried the other Con Yeager burger seasonings, but will in the near future. It is going to be hard to top the Greek w/Feta though.
made it into a meatloaf then sliced it in to strips for gyros. Fantastic with some homemade tzatziki sauce!
This is the best mix for venison burgers I've found. I used to use onion soup mix but this mix beats it hands down. Don't use anything else. This mix is awesome. Add strips for bacon for a super burger.
Great flavor for a burger! Definitely has a gyro taste.
